My wife and I went here for lunch based on the reviews. Yes, the food was fresh and hot, but our chow mein noodles were dripping with so much oil we didn't want to finish it and it left a sick feeling in our stomachs. The chicken balls were filled with good size chunks of meat but the batter was not completely cooked.I also had the miso soup, which was very tasty, but it came in a very tiny bowl and way too much tofu. Not a good value for the price. The staff were nice and friendly, but we had difficulty communicating questions about the food with our waitress, which left us not asking any more questions.Overall, if you want good, hot and fresh chinese food and don't mind that it is more pricy than most, don't mind it too oily, don't need to ask questions, and are okay with the outdated environment, then this is the place for you. It's not the place for us.
This place looks terrible from the outside and worse on the inside with a bizarre run down décor. But! The food is unbelievable! Order the take out it is all good and stupid cheap. If they charged more they could renovate! City hall and the locals love this place and keep it going. Super nice owners, not sure what province of china the food is from. Mostly Canadian style Chinese fast food done just this little bit better than you have had before. Some incredible dishes which will blow you away. Example crispy honey beef which is deep fried super thin unbreaded strips tossed in spicy dark honey. You have to eat it quick before it cools and solidifies into taffy. Crazy good! It is an adventure to figure out what they have here at super low prices. Learn what you like and order it out. Second only to Chef Chan in Barrie for Chinese food. You will have to go to Markham for better.
The worst food I have ever eaten - the meal for one three chicken balls - watery bean sprouts. Our usual from a competitor has five chicken balls with chicken rice - beef with vegetables and almonds - it costs the same price. Years ago I ate here the food was good - perhaps it has changed owners.
Our go to place for quick and delicious sushi. We always do the take out option, although there are lots of tables we rarely see many dining in.
