Producing must be the worst. I swear, they'll take over the left. Stop n Shop, Aqui and Amazon produce last days if not a week. Bayonne Shop Rite products are sometimes bad the next day, the apples are rotted in the cucumbers are shrunk to name just a few. Shop Rites outside Bayonne are great. Shop Rite by Bayonne is a demolition of inadvertent time fresh quality.
Two weeks ago, I placed a large order and requested delivery. I left the store at 5:30 p.m., and by 9 p.m., my food still hadn't arrived. After calling, a staff member informed me that there was no order under my name. Seriously?! After waiting for 15 minutes on the phone, she promised to check on it, explaining that deliveries stop at 8:30 p.m., as if it was my fault the cashier failed to input my order correctly. My food ended up being delivered at 10 p.m. Hoping this was a one-time issue, I returned today. I left the store at 4:20 p.m. and requested delivery again. By 7 p.m., I called to check on my order, because of my previous experience. Well, it turns out my order was still in the store, and they didn’t plan to have it picked up until sometime between 7 and 8 p.m., meaning I likely wouldn’t see it until after 10 p.m. I then asked to speak with a manager, questioning what happened to their supposed two-hour delivery window policy. His response was that there was no guarantee for delivery times because they use a third-party service. Seriously?! This is absolutely ridiculous. Who wants to wait four to five hours for their order to be delivered? You might as well call an Uber to take your food home, because if you reach out to them, you're likely to get an attitude on top of it.
It seems like common sense would suggest that they implement a policy where, if an item is out of stock, they should contact the customer to discuss alternatives. At this point, we could have explored other options together. The only reason I chose ShopRite for my online order instead of Walmart was because a specific water item I needed was available at ShopRite. Unfortunately, one of the three items I ordered was incorrectly listed as in stock.
If you're not heading to Walmart or Costco on Route 440, ShopRite is a good option. It's a solid grocery store that meets all your needs, though you shouldn't expect significant discounts. Their sushi is fresh and tasty, but it can be a bit pricey. The sushi chef is friendly, which adds to the experience. Additionally, there's plenty of underground parking available, as well as a small amount of outdoor parking above the road.
Lots of options including a wide selection of bakery goods, fresh meats and a sushi bar as well as a seafood counter and cold cuts. Lots of parking across the street of ShopRite and underground parking.
