The food was quite good and all of us enjoyed our meals, however, the entrees were inconsistent. Some were far bigger than others. We also did not receive the dal makhani that was supposed to be included in the offer and we had to ask for the bowl of rice the offer included also. The service was quite slow, it took over an hour for the mains to arrive. Overall, despite the slow service and inconsistent food servings, the food was quite tasty and we did enjoy ourselves.
Used a Groupon voucher tonight..... food absolutely delicious. Unfortunately was freezing cold in restaurant and staff didn't seem that interested in serving or explaining dishes. As food so good might think if going again but with so many Indian restaurants around it ends up being about the experience and staff
The 5 stars are for being a great meal at exceptionally good prices. When you see the '6 courses for $9.99 ' you think dodgy soggy curry. But not so with this place! Had some delish strips of naan with daal for entree, two samosas and a yummy vindaloo with rice for mains. Add this a chickpea salad and mango ice cream for desert this could be the best value meal in Adelaide. The curries are great as is the samosa and onion bhagi. Six course for 3 people, some extra naan and 3 glasses of wine for $52. Great stuff!
A great local Belair restaurant. The food was great -tasty with a food choice. We tried their $9.90 three course meal and were very pleasantly surprised. We bought a few extras as we felt guilty given the value and decent serves. Well worth a try.
Yet another Scoopon deal! This time we purchased a $49 for a three course meal drinks for four people. Located a bit past Windy Point, the drive to this restaurant was beautiful, relaxing and thrilling(all them turns at night was quite difficult since there were next to 0 street lights . <br/ <br/ The restaurant was quite small with only a few tables, but that's no surprise as it is located in pretty deserted area. Apparently they are more known for take-away and delivery. The lighting of the place was unusually dark, but they made it up with multiple candles on the table which made it a quite relaxing environment. <br/ <br/ The Scoopon came with an entree, main, dessert, and drink for each person. You could select anything from the menu which was great as most places restrict customers from picking certain dishes even if you offer to pay extra. We were also given a large bowl of rice to share, and three pieces of garlic naan bread each. This was the first time I've been to an Indian restaurant where I had to order dishes other than curry and naan, so I had no clue what was good. So i ordered four entrees that seemingly had no connection (different ingredients , however they all tasted similar (fail... . Despite the similar taste though, the entrees were great and definitely something different from my typical dining at an Indian restaurant. <br/ <br/ Moving onto the curries, at first i thought there wouldn't be enough as the bowls that contained the curry was really small. However, never underestimate curry, they always put more than enough for you to cover every rice/naan you order. We ordered one chicken, lamb, beef and seafood curry, which gives us the chance to try one from each category. My favourite was the chicken as always. The curry always goes the best with chicken, and no matter how long they cook it, the chicken won't go all rough and chewy. The seafood curry was something i would not normally try, and i think i'll keep it that way. It was different, but the fish was all broken, and didn't really mix well with the curry. With the desserts, we just went with the safe mango lassi and mango ice cream. They were both great, and the lassi was nice and smooth. <br/ <br/ Overall, the experience at Olive Green Kitchen was great, definitely get some insane value with this Scoopon (save 50ish% paid as the normal menu was relatively expensive. The food had lots of flavour, and the Scoopon really allows you to try dishes you normally wouldn't try when paying full price.
