Contribuisci feedbackI had a brief 2 night stay in Berlin recently (alone) and decided I wanted to go to a typical German Restaurant not too far from where I was staying. I am glad I found the Schwarzwaldstuben'. My extremely limited German meant that I could...converse in English. I had such good food, service and snaps decided to go back the following night. The restaurant has character and the service was excellent and good value for money. Would highly recommend it.
Came here on my first trip to berlin sausage salat was average, the late zle sausage and lenses for the main however was excellent. the service really leaves the dinge, no warmth or friendliness. just put them down to eat and that was it would have liked... that tried dessert but not very welcome
This was formerly a very friendly local pub. now it has become a terrible tourist trap. as a native I came regularly. Now it's just a big disappointment. Today, the waitress was actually quite rude, the flaky cake was cold, and when I. kindly mentioned that she was just scrubbing it off, and that wasn't the first time I had made such an experience.
We visited this restaurant to eat some tasty, hearty German food and Schwartzwaldstuben definitely delivered. We got a lovely romantic table, lit by candlelight and were provided with a thorough explanation of both the food and drinks menus, along with some great recommendations based on...our likes and what we were after. The server spoke great English and was super friendly. We both like lager, so got the Augustiner Helles beer which was on tap. It was the best beer we had in Berlin! For dinner we had the pork Schnitzel and the Spatzle with mushroom sauce it was so tasty, warm and filling. The Schnitzel was full of flavour and cooked perfectly not greasy at all. The Spatzle is like a pasta, and you just need to pour the mushroom sauce all over it! We also had the pork, fennel and sour cream pizzette I know this is not 'german ' but I can 't explain how amazing this was! I 'd advise get it as a starter you won 't regret it! And for dessert we had the shredded caramelised crepes, which were nice, but not as good as the mains/starter.
Very cool atmosphere and lots of great food. I ordered the rosemary sausage that came with mashed potatoes and a cabbage slaw and was very happy with it. I also tried my friend's spaezle (a cheesy pasta with onions) and almost wished I had ordered...it. We were seated very quickly and service was great! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a place to get authentic German food while in Berlin. Also great options for vegetarian and gluten free diets.
