We enjoyed a lovely lunch there then had a stroll round. Lots of very interesting items for home garden!
The restaurant features a wide variety of plants and impressive decorations, especially in the glass-enclosed area, which is perfect for parties! However, I found the prices to be somewhat concerning. For instance, two servings of gammon, two eggs, and chips cost £10, while a breakfast of one serving of gammon, one egg, and chips was £5.25. The taste was decent, but the gammon was quite tough. On the bright side, the garden center is not to blame for that! There's plenty of parking available, and it's easily accessible from the main road. Overall, it's worth a visit.
Unfortunately, the fish was not giant at all; in fact, it was quite small and primarily broken with a thick, hard batter. We ended up removing most of the batter. On the other hand, the pasta was a decent portion for a children's meal, but it was actually spaghetti, not pasta as described. The bread served with it was a hard, crunchy variety that my grandson couldn’t even bite into. The restaurant definitely needs to improve in this area. That said, the rest of the garden center is wonderful. While it can be pricey, there are some beautiful and delicious items available. The selection of plants, both indoors and outdoors, is impressive, and there’s a large crafts and clothing section. Additionally, there’s a fantastic store within Maidenhead Aquatics, where you can find everything from equipment and tanks to plants and fish for both beginners and seasoned hobbyists. It's worth visiting if you have some money to spend, but I recommend staying away from the restaurant's fish, unless you’re at Maidenhead Aquatics. The garden center has ample parking and the staff are friendly, but they struggled to get our condiment order right. We tried three different staff members to get ketchup, salt, and vinegar, and ended up with more tartar sauce instead. We received a bag with some other condiments, which we ultimately gave up on. The garden center has great products, but they come at a steep price.
Like all garden centers, this one is on the expensive side. However, they carry some unique and different items. The butcher counter looks great, though it is a bit pricier. The Voakes pork pies are excellent, and I haven't found them stocked anywhere else.
