Peekamoose - BIG INDIAN

We came upon this restaurant out of pure luck while driving through Catskills and being terribly hungry. I am a fan of farm to table restaurants and this one is super fresh. Tried the chicken it's great. Also the complimentary bread was freshly baked and staff is very polite. I recommend the fries as well. Overall this place is definitely one of the best I have had in the country. A must must go to place. I will be going again on my next visit .

Came here to have a birthday dinner. The ambience is really cool and cozy. I loved the decorations. Food was amazing from the beginning to the end. Best app for me the grilled octopus. Best main the pork. Best dessert the pumpkin pie. Unfortunately I didn’t take pics of the food but I can tell was really good. The staff was super nice and kind. I’m definitely coming back

5 stars across the board. From being seated, to the gentle banter from the hostess, to the food and cocktails that surpassed all expectations for its quality and creativity, we highly recommend this place if you are anywhere near. We were seated in the bar area because we asked to be in the warmest place away from a/c and that was a fortuitous request. The ambiance in the bar can’t be beat and we would definitely dine there again as opposed to the main dining room. Unlike another reviewer, we found the Zucchini entree to be excellent. The Trout butterflied over cold watermelon though took the prize. So yum. The night at Peekamoose will linger in our dining memories for a long time.

A Gem in the Mountains If you’re in the area or even within two hours, it’s an hour excellent option to spice up your usual foodie schedule. Peekamoose Restaurant has excellent waitstaff and surprisingly high-caliber food. Just make sure you HAVE RESERVATIONS A WEEK (or more) beforehand. Trust me, the wait is worth it. They have a moderate menu for drinks but some great options on that menu. Mixed drinks were very good, especially for the area. The environment is eclectic and woodsy but unique and classy. No words to really explain the experience. It’s a nice hodgepodge that my pictures won’t do justice (particularly the outdoor patio). They have a private party room and a child room which just make this even more unique and gives weight to their staff’s desire to serve and serve well.

Definitely popular and must visit in Catskills if you are around Belleayre, Hunter mountain, Phoenicia or even Kingston. *Reservation recommended!! We were so lucky to get the last slot during 5-7pm in 1hr. and these consider as their moderate busy night. They even have the lines during summer. We ordered couple items and they are all tasty, My favorite is pork belly meat ball. Their Slow braised beef short rib are so tender as the sever said they spend 3days cooking it.
