Contribuisci feedback3 of us had Sunday lunch here today and it was really good. I had garlic mushrooms to start, lovely fresh and tasty. Next I had the slow cooked beef (so did the others) and it was delicious, melt in the mouth and with a really tasty sauce. It came with yorkshire pudding, mushrooms and roast potatoes, a generous dish of vegetables and new potatoes accompanied it. The carrots in particular were delicious, probably the nicest carrots I've ever eaten. For dessert I had cheesecake which was lovely, soft and creamy with ice cream. Three courses for 3 people with a really nice bottle of wine was just over £70 (the wine we chose cost over £20 but were were many cheaper options) and I thought that was great value. Sadly we were the only diners in there, I can't understand why as the gentleman who served us was really pleasant and friendly and the food was excellent. Maybe the hot sunny weather had encouraged people to head for places with outside seating, well they were missing a treat. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Daniel's Bistro, do give it a try.
A friend and I had the two courses and fizz for £17.50 The food was beautifully cooked but lacked a bit of imagination and the choices was limited unless you wanted to go fish/meat for both starter and main The blade of beef was melt in the mouth but the sauce was standard and the accompanying veg was plain steamed and lacked imagination I liked the pre starter soup as an extra nice touch I’d be keen to come back and try the a la carte Staff were very lovely and it was busy so nice atmosphere
I really enjoyed this restaurant, but it has the potential to be amazing. The food was delicious once it arrived, but the service was a bit slow. The restaurant is quite small, with only 6 tables, so booking in advance is essential.
Three of us made a reservation for 8:00 pm at this restaurant. We ordered olives and bread to go with our wine, but unfortunately, the bread and olives did not arrive until more than 15 minutes later. The scallops for the first course were tasty but extremely small and not worth the price. The owner informed me later on that my shoulder of lamb had been overcooked and they had run out, offering beef as a replacement without giving me a choice. The main course finally arrived after 9:30 pm, with the excuse of the overcooked lamb causing the delay. The replacement beef course was alright but not warm, and the sauce with beetroot lacked flavor. One of my friends found the pheasant course tough and lacking in flavor, more similar to chicken. However, my partner enjoyed the fish course. The vegetables were average, and our complaints about the delays and food quality were not addressed satisfactorily. We were offered a complimentary drink, but that did not make up for the disappointing experience, especially since it was meant to be a birthday treat for my friend. At the very least, the charge for one course should have been waived.
Thank you for such a fantastic evening, whilst my husband and I celebrated 16 years together. Such a relaxed atmosphere, with delightfully tasting food, and perfect service throughout our meal . Love the mussels and risotto, steak and lamb mains, cheese platter and the delightfully moreish salted caramel cheesecake
