I would definitely rate mings in the top 5. note that this is not their average cheap Chinese food, this is quality food and price to the high quality of raw materials they use. yum yummy I love it!
Lovely visit with brilliant staff and superb food, also Reasonably priced.will most definitely visit again
We have stopped here several times on our trips to Birmingham and always seem to end up here. The egg rolls are outstanding and are brought to you before the meal and are a great way to kick off the meal. If you like hot tea this is the place. We ordered the egg drop soup that is as authentic as you get with large pieces of chicken in the soup and you could make a meal of it also. We split a moo goo gai pan that was served fresh out of the skillet with a great garlic smell that was good and not too overpowering. You can pick the rice you want -fried my favorite , white or even healthy brown- I try to avoid the healthy stuff if I can ; The service was great with Dado aka pool shark telling us stories of his adventures across the states visiting old friends. Definite must for some off the beaten path Chinese food and very reasonable!
I usully eat in Chinese quarter of Birmingham so I am used to top quality Chinese food. On this occasion I had a few drinks so was unable to drive so we took a chance and ordered from a well know online delivery company. I knew something was wrong when I opened the bag of prawn crackers and half of them were brown. eerrrgghh. We persurvered however and tasted the other dishes but each and everyone was inedible. Each dish was watery, taslless and fowl looking. The worst was the crispy duck that was oozing with fat when you pressed it. Not crispy at all. Of course our party of four refused to eat the food and we contacted the online company to explain what happened and we received a full refund. The food at mings certainly does ming. Avoid.
I have used Mings as my prefered takeaway for seven years but the last 3-4 times the food has been awful and portion sizes significantly reduced. I don't know if there has been changes to the chefs and kitchen staff but they really need to pay attention to these reviews, otherwise like me people will not continue to use them! It's a shame as I used to really enjoy the food from Mings.
