This is a great pub with a good sized open air space at the rear. the food is good and the service is excellent. It's a popular place and can get very busy at night.
The Clifden is one of my favourite hostelries, the beer, food and general ambience are all really good
Beyond disappointing roast. Both our meals were completely drowned in the most bland ,watery gravy I've ever tasted. No seasoning across any of the meal at all . My veg roast was a few Linda McCartney sausage's , overdone veg very dry Yorkshire pudding. My partner had the same but the lamb beef . The wine was pretty awful too..we won't be returning anytime soon . The guy who served us was really nice though .
Nice pub, not that busy when we popped in, food had just finished too, not a problem though. Staff really good, however, large pink gin, tonic and a pint of cooking bitter over £15! Bit steep that, no wonder it was quiet...
