The Sunflower Lounge - Birmingham

I walked for half an hour to reach this restaurant based on their website claiming they serve soul food. However, upon arrival, I discovered that this wasn't true. While it's okay if they don't offer food, the website definitely needs to be updated to reflect that.

I've only stopped by for a drink or two before or after a concert. The space is pretty small, so finding a table on a busy night can be a challenge. However, they usually have great music playing, and the crowd tends to be a nice mix of laid-back and alternative types.

Been various times to this venue with no issues good drinks selection and great venue for live music We walked in on Monday lunch time and the guy behind the bar was on the phone which is fine, no problems. We dont mind waiting to be served a few minutes, or grabbing a seat until he was done. We were stood at the bar and waited around 5 mins without even being acknowledged. The guy was literally looking in the opposite direction. After a few minutes had passed we were joined by a group of older women who came in probably looking for some drinks/lunch like us. We waited a few more minutes and we left. I appreciate sometimes people are busy but a quick acknowledgement and 'be with you in few mins ' would have gone a long way. We left, went over the road into snobs and had lunch and drinks there for an hour or so. The group of women who saw us leave looked as though they were doing the same. In a city where food and drink is everywhere and competition is rife, this is disappointing. A second to say be with you in a minute, or grab a table and be there soon we would of sat down and spent money
