Recently, I sat in a booth and immediately lost my appetite due to a musty smell. Not sure where it was coming from (menus maybe). I love Mojitos so I was excited to try the pomegranate one they offer but it ended up being the worst mojito I have ever had! I was just about done eating by the time the server even checked on me so didn’t really have the time to complain and maybe get a new one. I have now tried this place too many times and have decided it’s not worth it to ever try it again.
We were here for brunch on Mother's Day. It was busy, and the food was okay. We could not have a pitcher of water at our table don't understand why? We waited for refills on water constantly. It was not very smart on their part especially on how busy they were. The waiter screwed up all of our bills and overcharged us on everyone's bill.
First I do have to say the dinning area and the patio are beautiful. When you first come in the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. The menu has lots of options and I usually do the build my own burger. However I always order my burger patty to be cooked medium. Sometimes it comes out a perfect medium, sometimes it comes out well done and sometimes it comes out so raw the patty is falling apart. Also when it comes to paying your tab make sure you double check and look for mistakes. On a previous visit I was charged twice for all my drinks and on my most recent visit I had someone else’s drinks on my tab that I never ordered. I later found out it was the drinks for the table next to us.Overall I’m really disappointed because I feel like the Tavern has so much potential and their menu looks amazing. They just lack on the execution and make too many mistakes on the service side. I’ll be the first to admit that mistakes happen from time to time and we are all human but I have either had the worst luck here or it simply is just that bad.
Great buffet for mothers day, atmosphere ot was crowded and noisy but probably because it was mothers day. We had reservations and we were seated within 15 minutes Vegetarian options: We had the buffet where there were plenty of vegetarian dishes
We've been here twice. The first time with some family. It took a little bit to get our food and we had to keep flagging down the waitress. That's fine, I don't typically leave reviews after one less than favorable experience. But my fiancée and I went again today. We remember the food being pretty good and the atmosphere being nice.We were sat right away. There were additional empty tables. This is a Wednesday night around 6pm.It took 10 minutes to get our waitress over to us to order drinks. Then another 10 minutes to bring the drinks over. We had to flag her down to get them and while we were at it we put our appetizer order in.We got the drinks the same time the appetizer came out. After we ordered, it took an hour to get our food out. At this point, we'd been here for 1.5 hours. The Club my fiancée ordered was luke warm, had lettuce despite being asked to not have it, and the monterrey jack cheese that was supposed to be on it according to the menu was simple american. It seems petty to complain about but after an hour and a half, we got a half-baked attempt at the actual order. The excuse was that there was a private dining party in the back. That's great. But if they reserved a private dining event, Tavern needs to have the staff in place to facilitate that. I'm not going to call ahead and ask if they are having a private event in the back the next time I come since I know Tavern can't manage their own resources.I'll just not come back as this is the 2nd time in a row. There are other places in Blaine that offer similar menu items (and arguably better food) including gluten free substitutes with better service such as Bricks.
