We ordered chips, flake, nuggets, and a pineapple fritter, and everything was delicious! The flake was fresh and crispy, the chips were perfectly salty and crisp, the nuggets were a hit with the kids, and the pineapple fritter was outstanding. The medium-sized portion of chips was just right for two adults and two young children. There was a bit of a wait, but it was definitely worth it! I will definitely be returning.
This restaurant recently changed ownership and now offers a wide variety of Japanese dishes alongside delicious fish and chips. The light, crispy battered fish and flavorful potato cakes are a must-try. Their sushi is incredibly fresh, with the chef slicing the salmon right in front of you. Definitely worth a visit.
The restaurant has new owners who maintain a high standard of quality and are always busy. I appreciate being able to enjoy a $5 beer while waiting for my order. They now offer a selection of sushi, with the California roll being especially good. The restaurant has a nice interior and parking can be a bit challenging on weekends. Phone orders are accepted, which is convenient. I am proud to have a local restaurant that offers such high standards. My only complaint is that I wish the portion sizes were slightly larger because the food is so good. During peak tourist times, the wait can be up to 45 minutes, so ordering ahead is recommended.
Blairgowrie Fish 'n Chips was the The Blairgowrie Store but is now called Beach Box. Our much loved and friendly host Wayne is now with his brother Darryl at The Blairgowrie Café on the next corner. Also, do not go there looking for the hairdresser....Peter Moore is now cutting from his home. As for Beach Box...probably too early to tell. Try it for yourself and give them a rating, although they will probably do well in coming holiday season.
Did I want a haircut, did I want fish and chips or was I really looking for a milk bar! Tried the fish and chips which were really just average and service not great and confusing order process.. I tried to like the set up...of this place but it just confuses me...not a restaurant, not a milk bar and not a general store...all this and a barber stuck in the middle of the store
