Additionally, their shelves, freezers, deli, and meat department are well-stocked with a variety of items typically found in larger supermarkets. Everything is easy to locate, and the store is tidy, organized, and impeccably clean.
I always make it a point to stop by for some fresh, warm cider donuts whenever I'm in the area. Depending on the time of my visit, I often get to see them being made. They fulfill all your fruit and vegetable needs, and they also offer a wide variety of other desserts and pastries.
I've been visiting this place for over 25 years, and I must say, it feels like a better experience every time I walk in. They have amazing baked goods and, as far as I know, it's the only spot around that offers Boar's Head cold cuts. Their sandwiches are delicious, and the produce is top-notch. It really goes above and beyond—it's my go-to when I forget to grab things at the grocery store because I can find all the veggies, bread, fruit, and meat I need for lunch and dinner right here. P.S. I love the nitro coffee and appreciate the variety of sizes available, so I don't have to spend a fortune every time I get one.
I always stop in Bolton when I'm on my way to Cape Cod or Rhode Island. The apple cider and apple cider donuts are simply amazing. The apple butter is top-notch as well, along with their other preserves. While some of the groceries can be pricey (like the $10 small fruit salad), the apples and farm products are definitely worth it. They have restrooms out back, plenty of parking, and the place is wheelchair accessible.
When I inquired about which was which, given that they were the same flavor, the young lady on duty seemed frustrated and blurted out, loud enough for other customers to hear, that she could weigh them if I wanted. Before I could respond, she took the cups over to the scale on the other side of the room. Honestly, I didn't want to create a fuss or draw attention for simply seeking clarification. It turned out that the two servings were closer in size than they should have been. She then mentioned, "Well, I heavy-scooped this one," referring to the smaller serving. Feeling uncomfortable, I tried to explain, “No worries, I’ve never been here before, so I didn’t know how the sizes worked.” By that point, the excitement of a fun ice cream outing had faded, and I just wanted to leave. If the management happens to read this, I urge you to train your staff on basic courtesy when interacting with customers. If my experience is anything to go by, it will be difficult to convince people to return.
