Idah's Patisserie - Bournemouth

I attend bournemouth University and get lunch here every time I'm in. I usually get a prawn salad roll which is always beautiful, full of filling and tasty. They do loads of different fillings, salads, breads, cakes, pastries. It's a high light of my day going here. Very reasonably priced too! Today I got a roll, fresh vianese finger and a drink for £4.50. I usually get a small roll and it's plenty big!

I had walked past Idah's many times on my way into Bournemouth town but never been in so the other day while walking past I spotted the cakes in the window and couldn't resist. Me and my partner ended up with five things in total, an apple turnover, chocolate donut and chocolate surprise cake, custard tart and an iced bun. We obviously didn't eat them at all once and saved them for later/the next day but they were all delicious. The apple turnover was huge and such a great price, it tasted delicious. Everything tasted great especially the chocolate surprise cake and donut. Im not a huge donut fan but this donut was lovely, I would definitely get one again! I can easily see Idah's becoming a favourite place to go and can't wait to go back again already!

I tried their new sourdough today, which was advertised on a board outside the shop. What a disappointment. Poor texture, solid, stale white bread. Hardly any sign of fermentation or aroma of real sourdough. This needs vast improvement or remove it from sale as it does nothing for your reputation. I would have returned it for a refund if I lived closer to the shop.

Regularly use this place. Smashing staff and good quality food.Much better value for money than the place a few doors down!

This is a place I go past many times a week and it always looks busy, I've intended stopping many times but there is never a parking space available however today I struck lucky. I had a sandwich that was made while I waited and it was hard to choose from the lovely selection available, I opted for brie and cranberry and was offered salad with it which was nice. I can honestly say it has to be one of the best sandwiches I've ever had , lovely fresh baked bread and crammed full of filling, I will definitely be going back to try some more varieties, at 2.60 I thought it was good value, finished off with a wonderful pastry , very satisfying lunch
