Have been coming to Retro for several years now and although there can be a slight variation sometimes with the food and the service its always worth coming back. Basic decor and facilities but the ingredients are fresh and everything is tasty. Perfect for a casual tasty meal. Loads of options for vegetarians and for the meat eaters. Tip is to ask for chilli oil which is not on the menu, not always available but when it is its homemade and lovely.
We came across this restaurant after our original plan had back fired. It was a good find! The waitress was lovely, she had a smile on her face and was very welcoming. Although the food is very basic compared to other Lebanese restaurants we have tried, the experience and homely feel was superb.
We went to retro to try some specific Lebanese dish that can hardly be found but unfortunately it was not available! Nevertheless, Elias, the owner promised to make me some for the next day. He surely did. The place is on a busy street with many restaurants serving different ethic food. It has outdoor seating but the weather was too cold for that. Nice restaurant, family run business and freshly home made food. If you want to try proper Hummus then look no further. the taste, the texture, and the presentation are second to none. I also loved the Falafel and the Kibbeh Yoghurtliyh (yoghurt based dish), not to forget my special Kibbeh Neyyeh that I had for lunch the day after as promised! Very friendly staff, nice decoration, reasonably priced and great food! Highly recommended!
Visited Retro again last night and as ever it was good Lebanese food, with plenty of choice for vegetarians and meat-eaters. Friendly staff. Great place to eat.
