It seems to get busy on Friday nights so we have had to get takeaway cause there were no tables left for us : .
Dined here for my birthday as I wanted something local and have heard nothing but good things about this Thai spot. Staff were very warm and welcoming, even giving my two-year-old son his own special plastic plate, bowl, cup and cutlery. A small gesture but one that made him feel special!<br/ <br/ We started with the o-cha rolls – rice paper rolls with a warm meat filling – and these were delicious. A very big serving so we shared between three and they were fresh and full of flavour. For mains, I chose a pork red curry with jasmine rice. Perfectly spiced, lovely flavour and a nice amount of heat too. It was a really good curry and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My Mum chose duck pad thai and while the duck was a little greasy (as duck often is) she said the flavours were delicious and enjoyed the dish. My Dad chose the laksa with barramundi and it was a HUGE portion! For a man with a big appetite, he wasn’t able to finish it! A little creamy towards the end, he still really enjoyed it and we all had a lovely meal.<br/ <br/ It is BYO which is great, service is quick and meals were fresh and packed full of flavour. The whole table enjoyed our meals and as a local, I will definitely be back. I was really impressed at how happy they are to cater for food intolerances and diets – the whole menu highlights that gluten free options are available and there is a strong emphasis on vegan options. I’m not vegan, but thought it was quite impressive for a restaurant to serve traditional food yet offer alternatives too. Highly recommended for great Thai food.
Have had 3 Uber Eats meals to date from A Thai 5 and all have been amazing. Last night was the Gluten Free family pack, with Satay chicken entree, Chili and Basil stir fry and Choo Chee curry. It's great that you can customize the heat of each dish as you order, and believe me, when they say hot it's HOT! Fast service and delicious food. The negative comments on here are simply wrong.
They take steamed dim sims to whole new level. They were the best I’ve ever had! We’ve been a few times and it’s now our go to Thai place. Dining in is always nice then you can take leftovers anyway! If it is busy though, their service can fall a little however it doesn’t seem to affect our experience. If you’re a fan of coconut rice like me, theirs is a must! We had green curry and the chilli and basil, dim sims, rice for each of us and drinks $62.00 so quite accurate from the price point they state.
Was driving around without any plan, and finally stopped over at A Thai 5. Nothing exciting on the menu; pretty much like most of the Thai restaurants. <br/ <br/ The stuffed wings cooked beautifully just that the stuffing was a bit dry and crumbled. We normally didn't like any curries in any other restaurant as they were way too sweet. Then we ordered 2 stir fry-chicken chilli and basil and chicken cashew nuts. Both dishes tasted quite nice and very close to their authenticity. The portions were reasonable. The only dislike was the vegetables were overcooked rather than tender-crisp. <br/ <br/ Let's talk about the service, there was only a young waiter. He provided a prompt and helpful service. We had asked for more fresh chilli twice and got it within a second. He also offered to refill more rice for us. Fast and focussed.
