Fun local dive bar we just discovered. They pour strong drinks and are friendly! Recommend
This bar would be such a great local dive bar if not for the obnoxious group of regulars we encountered when we visited last night. We came in on a Saturday night for the jukebox and fun dive atmosphere and were harassed by a bunch of men to not play music because they were watching the cowboys game. I thought they were joking with us and didn't quite take them seriously. We played $5 of music, got through two songs, and it was shut off because the group told the owner/bartender to shut off the music. The owner kindly gave me the money back and apologized, saying they are regulars etc, would we please stay and hang, but we wanted nothing to do with this group of entitled pricks screaming at the tv and bossing us around, so we left.
Call it an eyesore if u want, but I'll call it nostalgic charm... the people are nice, beer is cold, the toilets flush and everything. If you're stuffy keep drivin, if you're friendly stop in.
Elm Cafe comes right out of script via Hollywood. Was Roadhouse filmed here? The establishment sits amidst a rocky, dirty gravel parking lot where you can visualize 30 aligned motorcycles astride the establishment. It looks like one of those places where bar room brawls are taken outside. They have an AMI juke box. I met the owner. A really genuinely swell guy. The only ones giving this place bad reviews are pompous pedantic pontificating and pretentious people. If you like sipping tea from a saucer at tea time , you 're not recommended here.
