The inn we used to stay at was gone, and we are SO glad we found this place! It’s a really convenient walk into town. There are 2 easy hikes behind the property. It’s convenient for every road, highway, destination in the area. And it’s a gem of a place to stay, disregarding all of those things! Our room was comfortable, had a little dorm-type fridge in it, with just enough freezer space for my 2 large dry ice packs for the cheeses and berries I anticipated taking home with us. Plenty of outlets for charging things. Better-than-most Wi-Fi. Bathrobes, a large closet, 2 armchairs. A basket of local snacks on the dresser and 2 Vermont sodas in the fridge. Chocolate near the back door. Paul’s breakfasts? Superb! Creative, miles beyond bacon-and-eggs you might get elsewhere. We don’t eat meat, so Paul offered us vegetarian sausage as an option. I’ve never stayed in a place where the morning coffee is served in individual (2 cups or 4) French press pots. I’m generally not a fan of those, but these didn’t pour grounds into your cup and the coffee was strong and delicious, not at all bitter. If the world keeps on spinning, we expect to return next summer!
My husband and I had a lovely time. The room is very clean and cozy, lots of free amenities provided, close to downtown, quiet setting, wonderful breakfast, and the grounds are a nice place to relax.
Paul is an excellent host, and his breakfasts are outstanding, delectable, fresh, varied, just wholesome! We love the property, it is beautifully maintained. Right besides the Connecticut river, no view due to lush foliage, we can imagine how it will look during Winter. There are trails behind the gardens running besides the river. This is our gold standard of what a B&B should be like, beautiful, clean, great hosts, and wonderful breakfast. We stayed on a cottage room, nicely detailed. Brattleboro is quaint, and this estate does much justice to the beautiful New England states.
This inn is exceptional in every way. The history of the inn is quite interesting. The rooms and common spaces are beautifully appointed and very clean. The innkeepers, Paul and Judy, are wonderful hosts, and they take time to interact with guests, making certain that every need is met. The staff is knowledgeable about the area, personable, and professional. Most notable are the breakfasts. Paul's talents as a chef are simply amazing. We highly recommend the Inn on Putney Road for your next stay. You will not be disappointed!
Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night but it was great Whenever we’re in the Brattleboro area this is where you’ll find us Paul Judy are Great The food is fantastic and we felt pampered. You won’t find more gracious and accommodating Innkeepers.
