London was in need of a true Belgian fries spot (meaning double fried fries and a wide variety of sauces for ages, so I was excited when this place opened last year (especially since it's close to me).
Belfrites opened a few months ago near to Willesden Green tube station. However, it is on the wrong side of the station (for those people going towards Willesden High Road and not towards Cricklewood, you would never see Belfrites) so I expect it does not have a lot of passing trade. It's a shame, as the frites at Belfrites are wonderful. Expensive for fries, yes £2.50 for a cone of fries and an additional 50p for a sauce/dip accompaniment. But they are true Belgian frites. Double fried chips and far, far superior to Chicken Cottage and the Turkish takeway (both next door to Belfrites)The restaurant area is usually empty at Belfrites so I fear business is not so good but I hope it picks up. The staff is so lovely and the few times I have visited, they have given me free sauces. They do full meals like steak and chicken and prices seem very reasonable. Alcohol is not served.
We casually stopped by for lunch while passing through. The food is very reasonably priced and fantastically tasty, and it's also halal. I traveled 20 miles with my family to visit this place. I have never enjoyed a meal so much with my family. We still talk about those double fried fries. In fact, if the food is this great, I plan on visiting their country, Belgium, soon. I hope to return to this restaurant again.
Hay una plaga de pollo frito comida rápida en la zona de Willesden Green estación, pero Belfrites se eleva por encima de la competencia.
