The tapas is delicious (especially the arancini balls ... wow!) but for a hungry family, the lava chocolate cake was probably our most appreciated dish. :)
Spent a lovely Sunday eating a late lunch and watching the water and kite surfers. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was great. We had the tapas. Try the pork belly and pate - beautiful. A glass of wine with lunch and finished with a lovely smooth coffee. If you get cold easily take a cardie ladies as it can get a bit windy and cold with the wind coming off the water. We finished our afternoon with a lovely walk along the foreshore. - very nice
We used to eat at this restaurant quite often when it was called Sonomas & it was very good. Sadly it has changed hands. We have given the new management two chances in recent months & been very, very disappointed. The service staff seem to be trying their best & are always pleasant but they always seem to be short a waiter or two. Both times we have been there a short, dark haired woman has served us & she is always pleasant but seems to be trying to keep the ship sailing by herself. Our meals were really of a standard that I would call really very average pub food quality. If I was paying $15.00 for my main meal at the local pub I would say that I had got my moneys worth. However when main meals start at $35 plus each & my bill comes to $135.00 for 2 people (without alcohol) I would like to receive restaurant quality food. I also ordered a dessert which stated in the menu Double Chocolate Cheesecake with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. When served the Cheesecake was quite dry & was served with chocolate ice cream. Sounds picky but shows a lack of attention & was a bit of chocolate overload. We wont be going back for a third try which is sad because we used to like having a nice restaurant in an area that seems to lack them.
I came here with a group of 7 for brunch this morning. We ordered at about 10.30 and our food took 45 minutes to arrive. There were plenty of empty tables, it was not busy enough for our food to take so long. The waitress who served us was very friendly and polite and apologised for the delay (not her fault), however it would have been nice to know beforehand that there was a long wait for food. When our food finally came out, it was very underwhelming. Everyone's eggs were undercooked, items had been forgotten for multiple people, the sautéed potato we had instead of potato rosti (they had run out) was drowning in cheap oil and for one person the potato was still raw inside. It's in a lovely location along the beach and the breeze is cool and refreshing, I was with good company, but apart from that it was not a good dining experience and I won't be returning.
On taking a elderly friend for a coffee the other day we ended up at this water front café where I found the staff to be very helpful, polite and friendly We can a great coffee my friend had scones jam and cream while I thought they were a little flat he said they were very nice The café is in a great spot and was quite busy doing a lot of meals
