Brewhouse is a delightful discovery. Based on the name alone, one might anticipate a menu focused on beer and steak, but instead, you'll encounter a wide-ranging selection filled with fascinating choices. We especially appreciate the ability to select your own sides when ordering their standard mains or steaks. Our only minor complaint is that they tend to go a bit overboard with the garnishes on the plates—five edible flowers may be a bit much, Chef! Our favorite dishes? The Angus Sirloin paired with haloumi skewers and any of the Seasonal Mains.
Exceptional! I dined here last night and enjoyed a beef burger topped with cheese, jalapeños, and hot sauce—simple yet perfect. The patty was about an inch thick and cooked to perfection, medium-rare, and loaded with jalapeños. As a chili enthusiast, it was pure heaven. The staff was efficient and knowledgeable about the beers, and they kindly allowed me to order chili jam on the side with my fries. It’s the best chili jam around—I even have about five different varieties at home. Their sunset ale is delightful and easy to drink, appealing to everyone. They also had a selection of visiting taps with fantastic prices, the best I’ve seen anywhere. The venue features a bar area, a cozy lounge, a dining hall with tables and booths, and an outdoor space too. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and as a craft beer and burger lover, I wish I had discovered this place sooner!
Recently has to spend a week in hospital and this place over the road was a god send. <br/ <br/ Not only does it do take-aways and growlers it has some seriosly good beers on tap. Whoever is selecting their beer range is doing well.<br/ <br/ The food was a let down so dropping one star off.
I have visited South Brisbane many times and often walked past this brewery hotel on the way to other restaurants and decided to have a closer look at the menu. The menu overall looked quite interesting and I was pleasantly surprised to notice not one, but two sides are provided free with your main meal.<br/ <br/ So I decided to go and didn 't make a reservation. When we arrived the restaurant area was fully booked with people waiting for tables, and we were advised that we could sit outside if there was any free tables there. Very helpful and courteous service so far a good sign and luckily there was a free table on the footpath in an area where no smoking was allowed, thankfully. <br/ <br/ A side note there is a covered in area outside the restaurant which allows smoking. That was one reason I have been put off coming to the Brewhouse; seems peculiar.<br/ <br/ We ordered our meal and drinks and the service was very good, with the 'beer flight ' sampler explained. The sampler was excellent with some really interesting craft beers and really well priced at $10 for four samples.<br/ <br/ Our starter arrived fairly promptly and was quite tasty. The main meals were also very, very good lamb rump and chilli brisket. For a predominantly beer pub, a reasonable selection of bottled wines were available and at pretty reasonable prices too.<br/ <br/ So a very enjoyable evening was had. Summarising an excellent menu which will entice me back, very good service, great quality food and wide ranging and fairly priced drinks menu. Well done Brewhouse Brisbane.
