I have had some good meals there but it is too inconsistent. The coffee is usually good however. The furnishings and general presentation of this cafe can also do with a big upgrade.
The view is nice but expect nothing more. Warning, lids don't stay on the coffee cup. ???? It will cost you $17.50 for a VERY basic egg and bacon sandwich and coffee. ????
Beautiful outlook across the parklands but the service was extremely slow with seemingly only one cook and inexperienced wait staff who couldn't even manage the coffee orders without assistance from the cook. After waiting over an hour for our breakfast after ordering, we were amazed when one meal just didn't turn up - an oversight by the cook. Food was average. I could not recommend this restaurant based on our experience.
The restaurant is easy to access being located on the main boulevard of the Roma St Parklands and only a short walk from platform 10 of Roma St. station. After leaving the restaurant, we walked towards the city and after a short time arrived at Albert St, City. There were great city views from here and we also admired the work done to make this section of the parklands user friendly. So, in many respects the restaurant is in an ideal location for easy accessibility. My friend chose eggs benedict and I the Roma omelette. There were no problems about the service: I had been there quite a while before I ordered. They were very polite and accepting about the situation and attentive to our needs. The young woman attending to our table was an absolute delight. Once we ordered, the food took some time to be served, but then, in my kitchen it takes some time to cook an omelette, too. Hence, I was fairly convinced - and hopeful - the food would be freshly made and not something reheated, and this was so: it was fresh and hot when served. The dishes had been adapted according to the chef's particular style - pleasant variations. Both of us like to try new approaches to old favourites so we were quite satisfied. The outlook from the restaurant is one of spaciousness: overlooking the Roma St. Parklands. The restaurant itself gives this impression of spaciousness as well. Frequently tables are so close together, one feels as if one is rubbing shoulders with the person behind. Not so, here, there is a comfortable distance between the tables: a definite positive. The restaurant is full of light, airy and clean.A couple of things caught my attention. The menu shows a reasonable number of Asian dishes for a reasonable price. Further, I noted that late afternoon is a happy hour where several dishes are offered for less than $10. I commented, as were attending to payment, that I would return to try some of their Asian cooking. In all, we had a very pleasant, relaxing breakfast.
The service was bad! Food & coffee ok. Not somewhere I'd rush back too. It's right across from the Roma St Parklands & we thought it was a great place to meet so we could stroll throught the park later & play with our Grandson. So we had breaky there on a voucher, thank goodness. Park was fun but the cafe not so much.
