Before I worked at Eagle Street, I worked near Adelaide Street and one of my go to places for lunch was Pourboys, which is situated on Wharf Street, near the top of Adelaide Street. After moving though, I haven't had much chance to go back until a friend suggested that I go again last week. We were seated inside the restaurant, and since we were eating in, they had table service. One of the things that I really like about Pourboys is how they change their menus seasonally, whilst retaining their customer favourites.
The sandwiches and wraps here are consistently tasty and use good quality ingredients. Always enjoy my food, the dark haired male waiter (who I think is a co-owner? is always very friendly.
Popped in for a coffee after reading so many great things about this place, and I wasn't disappointed. These guys do a mean flat white, and their service is wonderful. Even though I only ordered a coffee to have in, someone still brought me a hug of water and glass (twice too, because I decided to move tables Will be back to check out their breakfast menu.
Pourboy is located in a somewhat hidden spot at the entrance level of some apartment blocks on the northern end of Wharf Street. Despite its unassuming appearance, it has become a destination for many people who go out of their way to find it. My brother-in-law and I visited it one morning while we were in the CBD for business. Although it may be easy to overlook, it is definitely worth seeking out due to its general popularity and reputation.
