Everyone is being critical of this place, at the end of the day they do kebabs, the meat is cooking there all day, so yes, if you turn up at 1am, dont expect it to be the bees knees.. its just a kebab.. Chicken n Chips is my drunken choice anyways!
It seems slightly pretentious to be critical of a kebab store... But. The young guy that works/d there was nice. Last experience, I was grunted at & no interaction from the staff, meant I didn't get what I wanted. Cold, soggy & salty. 8 years of living in New Farm & think my kebab days ended when I reached my 30's. Not sure that's necessarily a bad thing after tasting this.
I dare not to say that I am an expert of criticizing what an authentic kebab should be but my taste buds will tell me if it is tasteful. Went pass the Barbeku and felt like to have something for my stomach so ran in this shop and asked for an order of kebab. The service was not that responsive and eventually I had one in my hand. Maybe they are only keen on on-line ordering so feel odd to have my walk-in order but I do expect a more friendly service though. Anyway, the taste of the kebab was so so......
New Farms seems to be the hub of all the places to eat around Brisbane, as even the little fast food-y places like Barbeku reside here.
I will first validate my position by saying that yes I have been to Barbeku both very sober and also very very drunk.
