Contribuisci feedbackThis is one of my all time fave restaurants. Service is great, the menu is changed frequently which is great for locals. The sauces are fresh, citrussy, sour, sweet and always with fresh herbs, the beef cheeks are sticky, fish always fresh as. It reminds me of some amazing food in Hoi An in Vietnam - Mango Mango and Cargo are 2 restaurants which were mindblowing, but I think Citron is as good, if not better. Imaginative desserts and a good wine list. The prices are moderate, considering the quality of the food. Keep up the great work guys!
Read the webpage menu so you get a feel for the food range, and prices. Not the place if you're really hungry unless you want to pay accordingly. Ambience great (not too noisy, enough room between tables). Staff attentive and sociable (always topping up water, and floating past). Food quality cannot be faulted. Food quantity more haute cuisine (a model would feel full) than capable of engorging (after a hard day remodelling the garden and backyard). Earlier photos look like the food (so realistic). Were seated inside on a cool night but they do have heaters outside if you are not a cool frog. Fine either way. Smart casual attire or more. Recommend quality of food, but watch for price shock. :-)
We started with the mixed entrees and they were very tasty and light. We enjoyed the Shaw and Smith sauvignon blanc but the mains took a while to arrive. The mussels were enjoyed by my wife and the scallops by my friend's wife. I enjoyed the duck on bok choy and my friend thought the pork hock was delicious. We shared desserts of black rice and mango brulee.
Occasion: celebrating two birthdaysTime: arrived 6:15. Main meal served at 8:15 after we had complained that the table next to us had received 3 courses before our mains. Location: outside - inadequate heating spending most of the night freezing with jackets on. Servers: didn't know the menu. Clumsy and inexperienced but presented on it to be. Brought drinks out one at a time. My main meal was forgotten. I had to highlight the fact when clearly the other 11 people had received there mains that my place was empty. Empty plates sat on the table clearly finished for 15 minutes or more while wait staff wandered around. Food: Asian modern? The menu was apparently new. When I asked the server about items I was told "not sure because menu is new, but the crispy chicken has always been there through menu changes so it must be good". I got Panang Beef which was delayed. The sauce was watery, had no spice or depth of flavour. The beef it contained was like premasticated mush. It was horrible. Luckily the pot stickers I had for entree were quite reasonable. Cost: no wine under $50 a bottle. Waiter told me that 3 pot stickers for $18. 5 for $36! What a joke! Grossly over priced meals for nothing special. Overall: I will never return.
Citron is a welcoming restaurant with a great range of delectable delicacy's. The staff were welcoming, the food delivered to our table quickly and the wait staff delightful. The menu has recently been updated and is sumptuous.
