The only reason we didn't give 5 stars was because meals came out at different times and there was about a 15 min gap between the fist one coming out and the last (4 people). Although it was such a lovely place, so we didn't mind sitting there and waiting.
I only found this gem on my last day at Southbank. A small place only open during the day, it is a great place to browse at beautiful things, followed by a yummy meal or tea. Seating is outside with a lovely view of the river. There were so many healthy things from which to choose that it was difficult deciding. The food is served with a little something special. Great for a ladies' tete-a-tete.
A problem niche establishments can face is when they know they are niche and the staff treat customers who are not already regulars as lesser-customers. Sadly, this is what my friends and I experienced when we visited recently for an afternoon tea catch-up.The food offerings are very nice and the healthy aspect of the entire menu is commendable. Unfortunately, it seems questions about the menu items are frowned upon and notifying staff when items ordered have not been delivered is dealt with in a way that makes the customer feel like they were lucky to get anything at all.I won't be back.
We enjoyed our lunch - paninis and toasted croissants! The food was tasty and promptly served. We also enjoyed looking round the shop which sells gifts, cards as well as flowers.
This is a brilliantly unique cafe. Who would have thought to put together a cafe and flower shop? I had an Aztec hot chocolate and avocado toast. It's a great place to sit, they had lovely cards to buy and write. All around a great visit!
