We thought this place was a snack while we toured Brisbane's cultural district. The inability of the staff waiting for us was incredible. As we take our order in the checkout, we mentioned that we wanted to tap water with our sand what; the checkout saw... the tap of the water, it was empty, stopped our order and went to deliver another order from the kitchen. At some point, an employee came by; we gave her our order, and she prepared our bill, but contained a number of articles we had not ordered. After she had pointed out that $40 was a bit much for a sandwich, she agreed and corrected the bill. After a delay of almost twenty minutes our previously prepared sandwich was delivered, but with the wrong drinks. At this point we gave up; there is no point in striking our heads against the wall. We wouldn't give them stars, but the food and the latte were of acceptable quality.
With a wide range of menu items and always excellent coffee, there is a constantly changing style of customers at different times of the day. The Studious students and the Corporate Go-Gitter unite with the tourists and the cultural centre. A short or extended conversation... can often be enjoyed.
While I waited for a function near the Museum of Modern Art and while I only wanted a coffee, I saw the lemon cake. A little expensive, but everything is in Brisbane, but better than a sausage roll at $9. Coffee... was great too.
It is a bit like university café from the 19880’s. Good food, excellent coffee and great service. A very pleasant lunch venue for your day in the cultural precinct.
