Contribuisci feedbackFamily Yum Cha lunch today and we decide to come here as there are no Sunnybank queues and plenty of parking spaces available. I order the dry fried Beef Ho Fun and ten Dim Sum dishes. In the meantime, we drink hot Iron Goddess Tea and chatter. <br/ <br/ The Beef Ho Fun is served first while the Dim Sum are steaming. The noodles are nicely fried, beef is tender and it is a generous serving. Our run-of-the-mill Yum Cha meal is enjoyable. Service is very friendly and thank you to Chef Danny!<br/ <br/ With Phuong Tran
We enjoyed our dinner here tonight. It's been a while since I last came. The staffs all changed but have to say they are very much better service. The food standard remains as good as the old time. Highly recommend for late yum cha dinner.
After I read so many negative reviews as shown below, I felt very sorry to this restaurant. Indeed, it was one of the Chinese restaurant trading under the same management in Eight Mile Plains over 30 years. Since the relocation to the current address from the Eight Mile Plain shopping centre, its strategy of serving authentic Cantonese cuisine did gain its glory for a long period of time. However, due to the rush of over-branching of other types of eateries in Brisbane, the management could not keep the eyes on every food outlets, then service went down with negative feedback followed. I have not been back for a while but tried to re-visit last Sunday. The first thing I felt was the improvement in service. Obviously, most of the wait-staff are not green but perform well in serving the diners. We went in group of four so ordered a Chinese banquet for 4-6 people. The first thing came was the house-made Chinese soup, which was bland under my standard as compared to what I have in Sunnybank Oriental or Zen Flavour. Next came the lobster with ginger and shallot. Standard was average and it could gain more mark if there was more strong flavour in the dish. Then came my flavourite Steamed chicken which was prepared as the same standard as other Chinese restaurants such as Haoke or Golden Lane but no one can bit the one that I had at the previous Big Gun (that management had closed down). Then the braised Chinese vegetable gained back marks with its 'wok qi ', thumb-up. The next dish of Mud Crab in Singapore style was a good dish again. it was so authentic that recalled the episode when I tasted the same dish in Singapore. Hero of the night was the sweet sour pork rib which was freshly prepared in the kitchen, crispy outside and juicy texture that earned my appreciation. I admitted that I have not had such nice dish of the same kind for many years. Having said that the last dish was a let down, I think it will be better if they used flounder instead of frozen lemon sole for steamed fish dish partly because the sole fish does not have much meat and partly because the sole fish definitely was a frozen product which was a negative for a steamed seafood dish (a version of deep fried in pepper salt would be better). Overall, I am much appreciated with the improvement of the manor and wish them regain their glory and all the best in the future trading.
Excellent Peeking Duck. We were not expecting great things after reading some of the reviews on here, because we had also bought a voucher. We were however very impressed. The food came out quickly, there was more than enough for two and it was great. We will definitely be going back.
The Manor Chinese. Best Chinese I have had in a long time. We went with a LivingSocial voucher which was for 3 coarse Peeking duck one of my all time favourites. Because we were a group of 5, we also ordered some extra dishes not included in the voucher. The dumplings were perfect! The calamari with salt and chilli was light and delicious and the Szechuan chicken another of my favourite Chinese dishes, was among the best I have had. After such a huge meal I was too full for desert, but I had a taste of my son's home made mango ice cream which was superb. The service was typical Chinese, but the food excellent. It was our fist time. It we will definitely be back!
