We ordered two drinks (which were fine), a panino, and a bagel. Both the panino and the bagel were served toasted, but my bagel was burnt on both sides, so I had to send it back. The replacement dish was drenched in salad dressing and squished. I didn't understand why my bagel was toasted since it ruined the cured salmon it was topped with, and it was too hot to eat anyway. Our meal was served after those who had ordered after us, making us wait longer than necessary. When I raised my concerns again, the server simply stared at me and provided no response. Feeling dismissed, we decided to leave. It's a shame because the restaurant had so much potential when it first opened, but now it seems to have lost its spark. We will be trying a different place on the High Street next time.
I fancied a vegan lunch, and settled for humus and avocado with tomatoes on sourdough toast. It was served with an olive and green salad which finished off the dish perfectly. All very fresh and tasty, and the staff were so friendly and made me feel very welcome.
A light and comfortable establishment with friendly staff. An extensive, if a tad expensive, menu. Our toasted panini and toasted sandwich were reasonably well filled but could have done with longer in the toaster. Nice coffee. Mrs B's teapot heavily stained. Background music too loud. Who needs it anyway.
Though I’d try this as my sister has recommended it in the past and also I had to wait for a prescription in boots. The coffee was lovely, thick and strong. Better that most of the well know coffee shops. The cake was good and was of a large portion, only down was that it was a little dry, but that is just me being fussy. Price was £5.55 for a cappuccino and slice of cake
This charming cafe is definitely worth a visit. While the menu is not as extensive as before Covid, it is still a great spot for a lunch outing or to simply enjoy a delicious coffee or tea. The cakes are delightful and mostly homemade. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, regardless of how much or little you choose to eat.
