The room was dirty and not ready at all for our function. We had to ask them to vacuum carpet, which had to be done a couple more times. The furniture was random, mismatched and of poor quality. There was dusty, tired and old fashioned flower decorations that had to be removed from the room. It was really disappointing. The staff were helpful, pleasant and asked if we needed anything. The light buffet was appalling, no presentation skills. Thrown on plates and uninspiring. The usual beige buffet but of poor quality. I was extremely disappointed. There was no tea or coffee included in the price either, until my sister, with her good negation skills managed to squeeze a jug of both, eventually. Ladies toilets in a state not fit for purpose with broken windows, uneven carpet and toilet doors not closing. Overall a complete waste of money, unfit for purpose, tired and needs an overhaul.
My husband and I booked the garden suite for our anniversary September 2020. Customer service was good, the man on reception was helpful and polite and checked us in quickly with no problems. The room itself is beautiful, absolutely stunning with nice furniture and detail on the ceilings and nice wallpaper. There are some reviews.on here that say it is outdated but this is ignorant, it is decorated to fit the surroundings and style of building. The mirror has some marks on which do detract from the elegance but not too much. The bathroom is gorgeous and every peice of furniture is well thought and comes together to give a really unique feel. The bed was ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE and the most comfortable I have ever slept on, and the sofa was comfy too. We did not make any use of the dressing room (which also has a tv and a sofa but it was kept in good condition and nice style . Downsides were that none of the curtains in the room fully shut (gap in the middle, due to the curtains being operated by a string pulley and there were no net curtains. The room is completely visible to anyone at the front of the manor or in the car park unless the curtains are drawn. This is a shame as we stayed in the bridal suite and I would not like to be getting ready for a wedding (or in general in a room with the curtains drawn during daylight hours. There are net curtains in the bathroom however at night the actual curtains do not close entirely so feel a bit exposed using the loo with the light on! We were expecting the outside space to be a bit more interesting (or even overlooking something but it’s more like a little courtyard nothing special but it has places to sit and eat if you want to. Good for a bit of outdoor space. The windows let a lot of noise in (single pane due to age of building and there is a motorway nearby so there is car noise almost at all times but you don’t notice it after about 5 mins of being there. There was ample parking space and the room was easy to access through a side door to which we were given a key. There was good space to store clothes and the usual toiletries were supplied. Good amount of towels provided, tea and coffee (and hot chocolate get in! provided in the room with a kettle. Hairdryer also. Lots of plug sockets around. and the bathroom has a toothbrush charger socket. Tv has free view and quite a bit of information about the hotel on there (reception info, room service etc . Continental breakfast was really nice in the morning, fresh fruit, toast, yoghurt etc. In summary if you are looking to stay in a grand countryside manor with style and comfort this is for you. I would also recommend this suite for a weddings (as long as the curtains are fixed We had a lovely time and would stay again if we came to Bromsgrove.
This manor should exude style and opulence. No! Mis matched chipped tables and chairs. Stuff that should be put in a bin or attic left next to the mens toilets. Great young waiters but the hierarchy think they know whats best and look down their noses. Albeit that anyone with a brain can work out that a bar queue is solved by having someone working on it!
We had a group meal which was very good, nice variety and great service. The celeriac soup with walnuts was delicious and I had a tender steak as a main course. Recommended
My wife and I had dinner at Grafton Manor last night after successfully bidding in a charity auction. Grafton Manor is a little tucked away but is a beautiful venue and well worth seeking out. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. I'm definitely planning on a return visit soon.
