The standout dish was the Gator Bites, which were delicious, but they didn't quite measure up to those at Pappadeaux in Georgia. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the behavior of the bouncer and one of the servers, who made rude comments about my weight as I left the restaurant. This was in very poor taste. If you are above a certain weight, I would advise ignoring their lack of proper manners for certain customers.
I went to the restaurant yesterday evening for happy hour and you can't beat the $1 oysters. The other entrees were also delicious. Our server and the rest of the staff were amazing!
The service was excellent at this restaurant! However, the food and drinks were just average. The clams and oysters were good, but that was the standout for us. The lobster was cooked well, but the garlic sauce had a spicy taste, despite my wife requesting no spice. The gator bites tasted mostly of oil and dough. My mixed meal was decent, but the shrimp were overcooked and the claw daddy sauce was unremarkable. The drink was okay, but there was barely any liquid in the glass due to the large ice cubes taking up most of the space.
The food was delicious and the pickup time was perfect! The service was efficient and quick. My only suggestion would be to offer more options that are kid-friendly and less spicy.
I ordered the Claw Daddy Special at a medium spice level, but it tasted more like tomato sauce than Cajun seasoning. It was disappointing and not good at all. I have tried the Claw Daddy Special sauce at the same spice level before and it was tasty, so I'm hoping this was just an isolated incident. If not, I probably won't be trying it again.
