This experience at Henry Public was disappointing, especially considering my previous visit when I expected a higher standard. I have to deduct a star for the worst olives I’ve ever had in a martini, which likely didn’t contain any vermouth, or if it did, it was the cheapest kind. To top it off, it was served in a coupe glass. Grumpy grandpa says, “No. This is wrong.”
Here's the scoop: the restaurant has a charming, vintage vibe, and the burgers are excellent. So why only three stars? The burger prices are quite steep—$17, with an extra $2 for cheese and another $2 for bacon. Unfortunately, the cheese is just a tiny sprinkle, and there's only a single small piece of bacon. Is $4 for that reasonable? I also ordered my burger medium, but it came out well done. On the positive side, the fries were fantastic, and they come with the burger. However, by the end, I still felt like I needed to grab a pizza afterward to feel satisfied.
Henry Public deserves the accolades it has garnered over the years. Nothing over the top, just all around delicious food, creative cocktails, and great service.
This bar has a wonderfully cozy New York vibe. The beer selection is great, and the burgers were delicious!
