They pay for everything, bread for example, they put the bread on the table and you are trying to think is on the house, but not....The orchestra is very loud to us and sometimes they are a need. Service is pushy, deserts very bad.
I lived in this area my whole life and this restaurant is my favorite, even if I don't visit it very often, as it's more for big events than eating. It is a beautiful restaurant with a historic building and an amazing garden....We celebrated the baptism of our daughter here with a small part of the family. All well organized in advance with menus and everything. The food was great and tasty as you would expect for such a stylish restaurant. Service was slow and also quite pricy. But overall everything was beautiful and the guests enjoyed themselves.
Just had a family visit to this restaurant. A few things to mention: medium/average food (we had 2 cattle carvings, potatoes, shellfish, duck and drink water and wine). The food was well cooked, prices slightly higher, but generally worth it (for...the atmosphere / ambience). in any case, what is most annoyed to me is that in the end, when we had to pay with the card, I noticed that the waiter had the tip on the bill on himself without asking us first! Also the tip was written on the payment note, but not as it was calculated! It was a sum decided by him/her!!! They introduced tips on the invoice without asking us before! I note that no fee/service has been mentioned in the menu! We suggest that we would definitely have left a tip, but we thought that the waiter would put it right on the bill without telling us that! I have never been in such a situation in a restaurant in my whole life and have traveled in almost all Europe!
We spent a very pleasant evening in this place. The restaurant is not sophisticated, but the food is very tasty and the location is extraordinarily beautiful and well located. Unfortunately the waitress who served us did not have the best day, being tired, bored and...uninspired. I will definitely be back. I recommend this restaurant
The walled Casa Doina building located in the Kisselef park, in the chic district of Bucharest. It rightly has a National Monument designation. It is a charming restaurant, we dined outside under stylish French bistro style umbrellas in a relaxed setting, with tasteful live music. Service is very attentive, and the ratio of patrons per square meter is much, much lower than in other exalted Bucharest culinary venues - driving home the adage that you get what you pay for. Good apetizers, exquisite Ciorba de burta (tripe soup), grilled fish (biban), jullienne of beef (muschiulet de vaca). Get them to call a taxi when you leave, difficult to waive one on the corner.
