Sands - Buderim

Called in for lunch - atmosphere was nice, menu looked great, however, firstly our order was mucked up and when I asked the guy about this he brushed it off and argued with me and said it's what it is! I wasn't there for an argument so I simply walked away and went back to the meal which sadly was ****!!! Both my husband and I left most of it.... have driven past many times before and thought - 'must go in there one day', but will simply keep driving from now on, not worth stopping. Disappointed.

We had driven and walked past this restaurant a number of times, but were always put off by the raucous bar!However, the Roadhouse Grill located at the opposite end of the building is completey different. It offers an American/Australian menu that is delicious. Don't let it's appearance put you off. Recommended!

This is a large venue, but even at lunch time it is well patronised. The quality of the food and the value for money, hit the right spot whatever your budget, from the lunch menu to the al a carte menu. Particularly impressed with the quality of the salad, so many pub style restaurants throw a bit of rocket and slice of tomato and call it a salad, no dressing just dry rocket salad leaves, it doesn't take much to make a salad more appertising and it's great that The Sands maintains this standard.We have never found anything to be disappointed in, the staff are friendly and polite the meals as I said very good quality and reasonably priced.

We dined Christmas day for the lunch buffet.The salmon dish that was supposed to be served was non existent. Just a few dried up pieces of salmon plopped on top of some other dish in a bain marie. The turkey was dry, prawns very average and very small oysters.It was pretty much food from their usual menu with some turkey and ham thrown in.Very low quality pub food. The desserts were very disappointing as well. People standing around waiting for custard, and waiting in front of empty platters for refills. The tiramisu was not bad but the others just basic slab cakes, dry and tasteless.Staff were pleasant enough.

Food was excellent, good value for money I thought, good portion size, will go back there again, friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble
