Hitching Post Ii - Buellton

Terrible. We have dined here many times on our annual wine country trip and we were looking forward to our meal at this highly acclaimed steak house. The order of ribs was inedible and we should have sent them back. There was so little meat on the ribs, they were tougher than shoe leather and horribly salty. By far the worst ribs and meal I have ever had dining out. Take them off your menu! Two orders of NY steak. One was pretty good, the other was so marbled with far too much fat. The food quality has plummeted and we will not return. Nicky provided excellent service. We ate their Monday, Oct 2.

I’ve heard about this place so we decided to try it. It was very good but definitely overpriced

We have been dining here on every trip North. Another very good experience. The manager was very gracious, courteouus and professional. He allowed us to come earlier than our reserved table, allowed us to sit at our favorite table, 002, in the bar and helped with having our steak cooked perfectly. It was a great night at the Hitching Post.

It was everything we expected. Old school, but clean. Tons of delicious food. The filet mignon we ordered cut with a butter knife. All the staff was attentive and responsive. They had an extensive wine list and delicious dessert

The Hitching Post II never disappoints! The grilled meats are fabulous, watching the grill master work his grill through the window to the kitchen is better than a floor show. Our family has been stopping in Buellton for the past thirty-five years just to eat at the Hitching Post, and the food is always wonderful.
