Pelicana - Buena Park

Pros: The location is convenient with plenty of parking. Cons: The staff had a poor attitude, and the chicken was disappointing. I ordered boneless fried chicken, and it felt like chewing on rubber. The breast and thigh pieces were so bland that it was hard to distinguish between the two. Overall, this was the first time I felt like I wasted my money on what turned out to be the worst Korean chicken I've ever had.

I've been to Pelicana twice now, and both experiences have been fantastic. The chicken is incredibly tender and juicy. Although not shown in the pictures, their French fries are also delightful! The unique batter gives them a wonderful flavor. On my first visit, I ordered the half-size boneless chicken with crispy coating and the original sauce on the side. I was captivated by how soft and juicy the chicken was. Their chicken-moo, or pickled radish, is also outstanding! Today, I tried the whole-size boneless chicken, half crispy and half garlic. The garlic flavor was excellent but quite strong. Since I’m a big fan of garlic, it didn’t bother me, but if you’re not as fond of it, you might find it a bit overwhelming. The half size is just right for the garlic option. It had a little kick to it, but nothing to worry about if you have a moderate spice tolerance or higher. I definitely recommend this place! The staff is always very friendly and helpful too.

It's lunchtime, and as a family of four, we ordered just two sets of nine original and crispy wings, one bowl of rice, and one order of french fries. Despite being understaffed, they managed to serve our food in about 15-20 minutes, although it might take longer for drumsticks. My husband gave it his stamp of approval!

Attentive staff. Delicious Korean fried chicken experience! Hot and crispy from the beginning to the end. The Snail salad was a bomb, exotic and flavorful... amazing!!
