We told the waiter that we wanted a steak that was **** al Sangue. He said a point. We said "less cooked, ****, blue". He brought us a steak that was completely overcooked, without taste, although it began his life as delicious. When we complained, he said it was his fault and not the cook. But they did nothing except to offer Limoncello what we hate and so rejected, and even added the service to the bill. A real disappointment
*Food: Terrible *Price: Average *Service: Good *Decoration: Old-School * Best: Decoration. *The Worst: The meat is either boiled or overcooked and you can say that they benefit greatly in the type of cuts (you pay much too much for the quality you receive).
Manolo's is a sports restaurant, but not like one you ever know. They serve traditional Porteno food..Steaks, fish, flaans...Italian dishes. And the waiters... work there for generations... sometimes father to son. What surprises us is every year when we visit, we spend a special night and the waiter recognizes you from the previous year. Here are the Aregentines.
Staying in the Plaza Dorrego in San Telmo, we wanted to taste a less tourist restaurant, so to Manolo, just two blocks away. It is traditionally decorated, with a lot of memory of the walls. The waiters are how waiters should be: 50, properly dressed in black and white, and easy to shoot on your table. The cartridges seemed all Argentine, and many clearly local knew the staff and other cartridges. The food was good on average. I had the Entrana, not the best meat cut, but went well with the Chimichuri. To accompany, sauteed spinach with ham (very good) and frits. To start a salad, and to finish a homemade chocolate mousse. For drinking, a Quilmes-Chopp and a glass of a good Malbec. WIth a main course for my wife and another glass of wine, only $35 equivalent. While not gourmet, it felt a very traditional experience: give it a try.
