We ordered fish and chips the other night from this shop. Was an easy tea on our first night in town. Was not cheap and we expected better. We were told that it was one of the better fish and chips in town. Hate to taste the others! Everything tasted like it had been cooked more than once. The chips were awful. The squid rings were way overcooked. Dark brown. And we ordered 3 oysters and they were tiny, one looked like a quarter of an oyster. It was busy but I certainly expected better from a seaside town.
This is a must for everyone who loves quick delicious food- I can't bring myself to call it fast food! My delicious grilled fish (healthy or what!) with shared wedges and the obligatory sweet chili and sour cream were a wonderful way to start a holiday weekend after driving down from Perth. A charming quirk of this eatery is that you must take away at dinner time (the tables being only for lunchtime diners) - but really the best way to enjoy the freshly cooked and delicious food is out of the paper on the shore front, less than 5 minutes walk away.
We ordered on a Friday night and despite being busy we only waited 10 mins.Unfortunately we weren't very impressed with the chips, they were quite brown. They just looked old or overcooked. Seems to be a common theme reading previous reviews. Don't think I'd go back again
We both had the battered whiting and ordered chips. Loads of chips, slightly over cooked. Whiting was very tasty, but far too greasy.
