Good solid American Mexican. Had a Carnitas Burrito $5.79 on the board and was charged $6.99 (whatev's). Had a Sopas as well also good.
Not at all impressed. I had a pollo asado burrito chopped up chicken parts, pico de gallo and guacamole. Chicken had tough tendons and who's knows what in it. I hate biting down on hard chunks. Overall taste was average. I asked if they could make flautas for my wife and they said yes. They have rolled tacos on the menu, but didn't list flautas. Ordered to go and didn't check the contents. Got home and it was just rolled chicken tacos with corn tortillas topped with shredded lettuce and cheese. I asked for flautas anticipating that they would be flour tortillas. (I know they can technically be made with either, but why would I ask for flautas if I just wanted the rolled tacos on the menu). Salsas were lackluster. Definitely not a 5 star establishment. I won't return.
The service was great! The lady at the register was super nice and sweet! She had a great attitude and loved that she was so welcoming! The food was amazing. The whole crew in there is pretty awesome! Keep up the good work because you're doing amazing!
So, this place was really hard to find. It's not Talones, it's Su Pan Bakery, but it's hard to find that name too. Look for Panaderia on the window, that's the place. Entrance is on the back, not facing the street. After a tough time finding it, they also do not have air conditioning. However, the burritos as tamales were terrific, the baked goods looked great and very fresh and I was able to buy fresh tortillas too. They also sell all the ingredients to make tamales. Just go when it's not 106 outside! I can't imagine how the poor employees manage it all day and while cooking!
Dazed and confused.... This place isn 't really a restaurant, taqueria, bakery, or a hole in the wall. What it is is that its confused. And that 's a good thing. A VERY GOOD thing. I stumbled into this place by accident and the first impressions are the smell (buttery bakery pure fatness and cleanliness (like a strict franchised Chick fil a and sound (cheesy 80 's rock and ladies laughing in the kitchen . Where the beep am I? Regardless of where I am, I knew the timing was bad. My eyes and nose were much more hungry then my stomach and they accepted credit cards. FML. A fellow customer must have noticed the drool and blank stare because he handed me a tray and tongs. I blindly followed. I ended up at the register with 3 Mexican sweet breads and a slice of tres leches cake. This was just the beginning as I ordered a torta with fries and drink combo. To my left was a small salsa bar and basket full of self serve chips. There are also soda fountain and coffee station. I stopped trying to make sense of it all and just started to eat. The torta was good but I can 't go into details because I can 't get pass the bread. Like great sushi rice, this bread could be served with anything and it 'll make it taste great. I forced myself to stop at half the torta so I can safely eat the cake and bread. The bakery department didn 't disappoint. The tres leches cake and sweat breads were as good or better than the ones my childhood friend 's abuelita made. What 's bad about this place their pickled hot carrots were too hot and they don 't have menudo on the menu (I think I creeped out the cashier when I told her that I could live here if they had menudo on the menu . Because the bakery or restaurant or whatever they are is confused about their identity, I finally left feeling dazed from eating too much food...one of those good daze :
