Retono Restaurante - Cafayate

It is possible it was the chef's night off (Monday), but that doesn't explain the poor quality of the ingredients, including bife de lomo... I can't recall a more mediocre meal in Argentina, and at a higher price than any other restaurant around the plaza....Very disappointing because the setting is so lovely. Enjoy a bottle of wine there, but eat somewhere else.

This pleasant and atmospheric restaurant is just 2 blocks off the main square. It offers a traditional regional food with a modern twist. Service is efficient. The place is nicely decorated. As part of the Nanni bodega their (good) wines are served there at a...very reasonable price. The best place we tried in Cafayate. No problem and very recommendable.

The restaurant was cozy and little cold, the entrance sign suggested it opened at 7 a.m., so we planned around it, but it opened at 8 a.m. The Mollejas was very beautiful, the star of the night, but we ordered Bife de lomo (average) and carre de...cerdo, which was the opposite of the tender we could not finish. We also bought a wine in the winery and the price of their wines in their restaurant was almost x3 times to the one we bought.

We had a delicious lunch that was also excellent! Wines on the glass are huge, and the cheeses are particularly delicious! As others have said, the location is nice and peacefully highly recommended for lunch!

Retono Restaurant belongs to Nannys Weingut. It is a really beautiful location because it is located in the courtyard, the quiet green garden is outside of dust and noice of the city. Food and service was also great, although the menu is limited. It's really...relaxing experience, so I highly recommend it.
