Cafe Sunrise - CAIRNS CITY

I'm not a big fan of hotel buffet breakfasts but this one is of higher quality with a much wider range of foods to choose from than usual so I would give it thumbs up for its class

This is the breakfast room at the Hilton in Cairns. The food is cold. There were no cups to serve your own tea. The hot water in the urns were cold. The food is not replenished. There is no staff manning the barista area to order an omelette. There is creased white paper on tabletops. There are plastic plants in pots. The glasses were dirty from the dishwasher. The white plates are grazed. The selection of food is basic. I would avoid eating here.

We were impressed by the starter of eggplant chips seasoned with Moroccan spices.

I had the most delicious salad at this restaurant, with arugula, pomegranate seeds, popcorn, sweet potatoes, and calamari.

This trendy spot offers a spacious outdoor area with a great view of the street on the corner of Shields and Abbott Streets.
