We went with our family for Sunday lunch after a great experience in August. Once again, everything was perfect: the beef cooked perfectly, delicious roast potatoes, amazing Yorkshire puddings, and excellent desserts. The service was cheerful and friendly. If you like a good Sunday lunch at a reasonable price, this is the place for you.
I wanted to treat my father to lunch before returning to Spain and was looking for a restaurant with a nice view. My sister recommended this pub, so I called the day before to book a table by the window for the view. I was informed that the table was located near the door, but I was okay with that. However, when we arrived, someone was sitting at our table and we were told it wasn't actually reserved for us. We were then seated at a table without a view. The waitress explained that they didn't want us to be cold and gave various excuses, mentioning that those tables were usually kept for walk-ins. This information was not conveyed when I made the reservation. It seemed that walk-ins were given preference for the best tables. Unfortunately, nothing was done to address our disappointment, and if I had known beforehand, we would have gone to a different restaurant.
We received a friendly welcome as we entered the restaurant, despite a small mix-up that was quickly resolved by the manager. We were seated in the dog-friendly section, which was separate from other diners but still very pleasant. Our dog Storm was warmly greeted by the staff and even received treats while we enjoyed our meal. Overall, it was an excellent experience.
Came here for Sunday roast and tried the set menu. The food we were served was pretty good but there wasn't enough of a roast on the plate to what I would expect for the prices charged. Pudding was good Would come again but please increase main roast portions.
