Buchanan's Chop House & Whiskey Bar

We came to celebrate a birthday, our server was friendly and attentive, made great recommendations. Great place to come if you are a whisky drinker, the cocktail menu is rather small with a few traditional ones, but the cider on tap was very good if you like it light and off dry. Definitely would recommend the seared scallops, snapper and commodore beef.

Staff were professional and attentive to the core, friendly and knew their menu inside out. Food was extremely well done: attention paid to letting ingredients their natural flavors textures shine, but creative when they manage to elevate an old staple like the caeser salad. This is going to be on our itinerary every time we're in town.

Business lunch on the patio. Excellent service. Good food. No loud music (thank you; seems some restaurants in Calgary view themselves as night clubs now with extra loud music where we can’t have a conversation without yelling).

Our server Katie was the absolute best in every aspect! She knew the menu, had tried everything on it and was able to give us the best recommendations from adult to what the children might like best (which were ALL a hit!! . On top of that, she went out of her way for my young shy children and my husband and I, to make us all feel welcome and just have the best time yet! She was engaging yet respectful of our family time and left us wanting to return. The food was delicious and incredibly prepared, however Katie was the actual star of our evening making this one of the absolute best birthday experiences to date. We will absolutely be back for more as my children haven’t stopped talking about the entire evening! (Which is something special since most times they just want their iphone/ipads! . I absolutely recommend Buchanan’s for any event and cant wait to return!
