Most people won 't notice too much of a difference unless you 're used to Cantonese which is about 99% of whAt passes for Chinese food in this town.
Right around the corner from us and it's our go to Chinese restaurant. The inside is a bit warn, but the staff is always quite friendly. The unexpected thing about this restaurant is that they also have a Portuguese menu. We always order the Piri Piri half chicken with their homemade chilli oil. We mix this into the Piri Piri sauce that comes with the chicken. It is boneless and delicious. We usually order that with a Chinese beef and broccoli in garlic sauce with Singapore rice or thin Singapore noodles. The egg rolls are good. With the plum sauce, it's like having dessert so we only order it as a treat once in a while. The only disappointing thing with Emerald G is that they do not have good tea. They place a tea bag in one medium size pot. We only ordered it once and we will not order it again.
The inlaws were in town, and wanted some Chinese food. Emerald Garden was exactly what they were looking for. The service was good, the food arrived promptly, and all the dishes were excellent. We ordered the dinner for six, and we still had enough left over to feed for of us another meal.
Great restaurant. We had the Peking Duck, veggies, rice, and the sweet and sour pork. Great service, great price. The whole family enjoyed it. The duck was superb.
Best dumplings ever!!! They are a homemade recipe and they are so delicious! I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a child and I have never been disappointed. If you want fresh, delicious and flavourful Chinese Food, get it from here! It's best eaten at the restaurant but takeout is super yummy too. Not only that, the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating too.
