Our most recent stay was by far the best thanks to the incredible staff, our beautiful upgraded suite, and the extra amenities like turn down service and a surprise in our room after the first day. The mattress and pillows are great. The aesthetic of this hotel is grand. For those reviews commenting on room and bathroom size, you have to keep in mind this hotel was opened in 1914. It is historic and I don't think I have ever stayed in the same room configuration twice it is part of the charm and it is interesting to think that people have been staying in this room for 11 generations. If you want a cookie cutter room, there are several other hotels in the area. The Hawthorn Lounge is also makes my favorite old fashioned in the city.
What a fantastic venue and hotel! We have visited numerous times and recently held our wedding reception here. Nicole from the banquets team is truly exceptional! We are incredibly grateful for her dedication and attention to detail. She truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Nicole was excellent in her communication and responsiveness, and her positivity and energy were infectious. She also collaborated effectively with our wedding planners to ensure a seamless event. In addition to our wedding, we regularly stay at the Palliser as it offers everything we need - elegance, coziness, charm, and fun (with live music often provided by Rondel Roberts, who also played at our reception). We highly recommend this hotel!
Lovely hotel, room a bit small but we were happy enough with it, staff friendly and helpful. We got the room on a deal with complimentary breakfast through Super, however, after leaving the hotel we had a charge put on the credit card, around $15, we called to find out what this charge was for and was informed that it was a mandatory service charge for the complimentary breakfast, I asked why we were not informed that they were going to help themselves to this and was told it’s in the terms and conditions! We feel that it should be made clear if they are going to do this as some people are travelling on a very tight budget and it’s only fair to be up front about it!
Fantastic well maintained old historic hotel. Beautiful lobby bar and restaurant. From the moment we arrived with a car full of baggage all our needs were taken care of by the attentive and gracious staff . Good downtown location.
The hotel itself is beautiful, unfortunately we arrived early and our room wasn’t available yet(understandably) so we left and then showed up at check in, room was not ready. I think it took an hour for my room to be open but by that time we had already found an establishment with rooms available. No refund and no follow up by the manager. They did however give us a voucher for a free soda pop and in the short time we were there I was wondering when they were going to run out of vouchers. All in all and after the non refundable non service! It was the most expensive “free” soda pop I have ever had but tasted just like the $2 soda pop at 7-11Nearby activities: It’s right downtown so you can find a lot to do right out the front of the door. We even got to see a homeless person take a dump leaning against a wall
