We tend to order this because the eggs and English muffin seem more "real" than in some of the other selections. If you don't want to eat the breakfast potatoes or sausage it is your choice. Our hotel does not serve a free breakfast and the hotel breakfast was pretty pricey so we thought we would pick up some thing easy and less expensive at Mc Donald's. We probably saved ourselves $8-$10.
As my title suggests, I'd never thought to review a McDonald's, but this place deserved it. If you've come off a flight and need something quick to eat, I can recommend here! We caught the red eye from Toronto to Calgary. We were looking for a little something to fill the hole before we headed to The Rockies. So we popped in here. And boy am I glad we did. This was THE best McDonald's I've EVER eaten. (I never thought I'd say that!). The staff were brilliant, the food was fresh and delicious and the restaurant and washrooms were all absolutely immaculate. And let's face it... They can sometimes be a little sketchy. So this was a pleasant dining experience all round. Yes, I'm still talking about a McDonald's! We played around with the menu items. Adding and removing ingredients. Altering beverages and so on. They did it all and it was not a bother for them. What is even more amazing, was that it was all done with complete accuracy. This is certainly something that I'm not so used to. The food was perfectly fresh and tasty. Servings were really good. I still cannot quite believe this review is referring to a McDonald's. Well done Country Hills McDonald's!
Yes it's McDonalds and while I don't expect fine dining as it's fast food I do expect better customer service. My times I've come to this location, I find it disrespectful when the staff are speaking in their own language....maybe others don't care but it's bothersome to me. Several times my order has been wrong. The drive thru is so slow but if it's after hours no other option. One time I went through the drive thru with my son as we were grabbing dinner for our family on our way home. When I got to the window to pay the lady at the drive through was like "wow that's a lot of food, is that just for you?" I was taken aback by her tone and replied no it's for my family...which she then replied "it's late to be eating dinner" (it was 8:30pm) my 13 year old son even commented on wow that lady is rude! Don't order a McFlurry here as they never get it right it's basically eating ice cream with toppings....time to retrain staff how to make them. I will say that there is always an older lady on the floor cleaning, emptying garbage and collecting trays....she works hard and kudos to her!
There are a lot of McD's in Calgary so you really don't have to suffer through rude and slow service as you receive at this location. There were three cars in front of me in the drivethru and it took just under ten minutes to get served. Then the swipe machine wasn't working with my Apple Pay, so I tried a card to tap and that didn't work either. I explained that I had just used that card on tap at Starbucks across the parking lot but she insisted that there was something wrong with my card. I finally inserted the card and entered my PIN so it worked fine.Yes, that is exactly what I want after cooling my heels for nearly ten minutes to get an Egg McMuffin: a rude server to start blaming me for their restaurant's malfunctioning equipment. Needless to say I won't be back!
Whats great about mcd's? of course great standardization in service. it can be better if all the mcds have power points.
