My second time dining - and "Yay! I'm a fan."__There are several reasons Model Milk stands out:__1Great serviceThese are pro-level servers.
We made a last-minute reservation for two on a recent Wednesday night. Model Milk was busy but not packed and we were seated quickly. It was our first visit so our server walked us through parts of the menu; we ordered a bottle of wine (sadly, no Okanagan wines on the list aside from a rose) and a plate of calamari we shared (delicious with the edemame beans and garlic croutons - highly recommended).For the main we ordered the large format (for two) spicy fried chicken, with biscuits, a wedge salad and pickles. The chicken was very freshly done and not at all greasy compared to a fast-food version of fried chicken. Very tasty and plentiful with six substantial pieces of chicken. The wedge salad was refreshing in between bites of chicken, almost like a palate cleanser. All in all, we enjoyed our meal, we thought the wine was pricey ($72 for a bottle that retails locally for $23) and it turned the meal for two into an expensive evening - $153 before tip. That said, we enjoyed the food, the ambience and the interesting furnishings inside Model Milk. The lack of BC (ie local) wines and the wine markup (tripled from retail) might discourage me from going back, though.
I went with my brother and sister to Model Milk a few days ago for dinner. We had read good reviews in magazines and wanted to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We shared two starters - lobster steamed rolls and pork croquettes. The former was unusual and excellent but the latter was not exceptional. For mains, we each had the Alberta natural lamb and it was very juicy and well done. We were served by Colin who was friendly and knowledgeable. All in all, a pleasant experience.
