Sushi Kawa - Calgary

I have heard that our favorite server/host is moving to Centre Street and 17th Avenue, so I can already anticipate road trips in my future. Rumors are circulating that the owner, who is Chinese, plans to transform the restaurant into a Chinese-American fusion spot. However, I can't help but feel that most Chinese food we enjoy already has elements of fusion. My personal favorite were the lunch boxes - the best deal for sushi on 4th Avenue.

I ordered takeout and was completely amazed by the condition of my dinner when it arrived. Everything was carefully packed, the tempura stayed crispy! I loved the sushi and the sashimi was fresh and thinly sliced.

Sushi Kawa is my go-to lunch spot in Mission! The bento lunch boxes offer a great variety of items for a reasonable price (around $12). My favorite is the spicy salmon box, which comes with miso soup, salmon sashimi, their delicious hot sauce, spicy salmon rolls, salad, spicy chicken teriyaki, glass noodles, and an orange for dessert. I highly recommend it for any lunchtime meeting!

Great sushi room temperature and good sized fish. Good tempura. Good takoyaki. Great Sake. I really like this place. Staff is nice. Lots of room in the restaurant. Recommended.

There are a few options for sushi in Mission but I always go to/order from Sushi Kawa.They have great sushi (with generous slices of fish), the rolls are pretty good too, and the staff is the sweetest!
