No problem. But if you want to run a professional food service place, it needs to be clean. We noticed the window ledge beside our table was really dusty, as were the slats on the window blind. And speaking of those slats: there is no chain or pull cord to adjust them, to keep the sun from blinding us. We had to do each one by hand. That's a dirty job.Server Lacey was nice and did well. Thank you.I mentioned having a professional face on the place. Here's a tip: hire a guy with a bag of sandpaper to touch up the tables. Nicked, dented, hard to clean (they felt sticky). I have felt more comfortable using outdoor picnic tables. No, I am not being too hard. Proof: if a vinyl bench or chair in your home split or broke open from use or old age, would you expect your company to sit on it after you repaired it with duct tape? Hope not. But this SC does.A tip for the hostess. Don't walk ahead of your guests and plop the menu on their table and zip back to your post, leaving the guests to go to the table alone. No nice comment like "your server will be along soon". You know, nice friendly human-touch touches. Try it. Makes the guests feel at home. Note: no, the place was not busy, so getting back to her post was not a consideration. And turn down the stupid music. Please!Spent $70
The baked or rotisserie chicken was not unlike that we have eaten at numerous locations. They were advertising fried chicken on our visit and I was disappointing that it was not yet on the menu. We were not crazy about the dipping sauce but that was probably just a mater of taste we are accustomed to. The restaurant was nice and the staff friendly but the food was only satisfactory. We were hoping for something different and better.
Swiss Chalet has stepped up their game in the last couple of years. I've always been a fan of the traditional 1/4 chicken dinner.....but there are so many more options these days. Maybe one day I'll sway away from my 1/4 and rib dinner.A definite must if you've never been. Price is right, service is speedy and friendly and is can be a healthy option if your're trying to watch what you eat.
I visited both this Chalet and the one in shawnessy in the past month. The one in Shawnessy really went the extra mile..they had a special on ribs which included a chicken side meal. For twenty something my husband and I had the perfect meal with an enormous amount of choices. The waitress was trying to have her lunch but looked after us like we were very special and I have to say we are not vain but we sure enjoyed her time and the dinner. I am not a beef eater but I did enjoy the ribs and loved the white chicken. Thank you.
