Stem and Glory is a reliably excellent meal out. Every time I've visited, the staff and the food have been perfect.. the only hard part is choosing whether to pick my favourite dish (the excellent cioppino) or try something new. The dishes are so gorgeous, it's a great place for both vegans and non-vegans.
If you are going to have a vegan restaurant you need to ensure that the vegetables are cooked well. My starter consisted of the sort of over cooked broccoli that my grandmother would make and the even more disappointing main course of mushy aubergine in a very over powering, and not very nice tasting, Szechuan sauce. I had high hopes of this vegan restaurant but I won’t be going back.
The food was very good. We had the dirty burger and gnocchi. The dirty burger. It was very tasty and filling. The only disappointment was the ambience. The service was done with no welcome, smiles, or customer interaction. If the staff could be happier, I'm sure it would encourage people to come again.
I came back today with my son and close friends. We had a wonderful lunch. The service was great and attentive and we had delicious food including small plates, main courses and delightful desserts. I am so glad I came back it reminded me why I have always loved and supported this restaurant. Thank you Stem and Glory for restoring my faith.
